Tricia’s life path has been anything but linear. Tricia grew up with adoptive parents and as a teenager, she faced homelessness and chaos during extensive and devastating family turmoil. This led her to seek a sense of purpose. In 2005 she opened her adoption papers and learned of her Scottish roots. The opportunity to connect with her family and connect with the Scottish community in Vancouver morphed into working as a liaison between the Scottish government and businesses on Canada’s west coast.

In 2018, Tricia was elected as a Park Board Commissioner for the City of Vancouver where she worked to ensure that Vancouver’s parks were accessible to all, especially the elderly and vulnerable communities that she worked with as a healthcare practitioner. She continued to work in fitness training and consulting during her term.

Tricia wants to become a Park Board Commissioner to make parks and community assets more accessible to seniors and people with disabilities. To ensure that ageism isn’t a factor in the development and operation of Vancouver’s parks. And finally, to protect facilities such as golf courses and pools, that are important in the wellness and happiness for many seniors.
