What drives your policies? Years of standing beside families fighting for the funding their kids need. I've seen where the system delivers and where it fails families, my policies are built to close the gaps I've witnessed firsthand.
What do all your policies have in common? They unite families and schools around the child. Every one of them treats parents as partners with a real voice, not spectators.
What would your goal be if elected? To make families and schools true partners in every child's success. Parents will no longer be left out of the equation — they'll be part of every decision that affects their child.
Biography
I am a dedicated community member with a heart for service. As a wife, mother of two, and grandmother, I have navigated the unique journey of raising a child diagnosed with autism at age five, which has deeply shaped my empathy and patience.
For six years, I have served as a Lunch Hour Supervisor at School District 41, creating a nurturing space for students. My commitment to children also includes seven years managing a specialized hot lunch program for students with learning difficulties.
In my community, I have served as a Council Member at Large for three years, managing strata budgets with care. Additionally, my seven years as a Girl Guide leader has allowed me to mentor young people and grow as a leader. I'm seeking a role that values my administrative skills, financial care, and genuine commitment to helping families.
Reason for running
I'm running for Burnaby School Trustee because every student deserves strong support, and right now too many families are fighting alone to get it.
As co-founder of the BC Autism Advocacy Group, I've spent years seeing parents trying to get their kids the help they need, (including my family). I've seen where the system falls short.
If elected, I'll push for stronger supports for every student, honest budgets where every dollar is accounted for, and parents are treated as real partners not bystanders.
Trustees set the plan and approve the budget. I'll make sure both students and families are put first.
