Biography
As a mother of two, I understand what quality education requires, because I've lived it. Both of my children attended schools in SD43, and over the years they've shared countless experiences with me. The successes and the struggles they went through, taken together, tell a larger story about our district and the changes it still needs to make.
Before immigrating to Canada, I taught at a university. After settling here, I went back to school myself, completed my Master of Education at UBC, and spent nearly a decade working as a case manager, helping newcomer families establish themselves in this country. I know what it means to start over. I know how much a strong school system matters to a family that is still learning a new language and a new culture.
For the past several years, I've served SD43 as a parent leader. I was PAC Chair at Pinetree Secondary from 2021 to 2024, and before that, I represented Maple Creek Middle School and Panorama Heights Elementary at DPAC. I've sat across the table from principals, superintendents, and district staff. I've read the budgets, and I've helped families ask for the support they need.
Outside of my advocacy work, I play tennis and pickleball, and I belong to the Coquitlam Tennis Club and the PoCoMo Pickleball Club.
