Garry Thind is the Conservative Party of BC candidate for Surrey-Guilford.

Garry has proudly called Surrey home for more than 27 years, living, working, raising his family and serving his community in the city. For the past 12 years, he has served Surrey families as a Trustee on the Surrey School Board, where he is currently Vice-Chair, representing the interests of parents, students and the broader community.

Since 2014, Garry has taken on leadership roles across the school district, chairing committees including the Learning Liaison Committee, Traditional Schools, District Principal Selection, Secondary Vice-Principal Selection, the ELL Consortium and the Budget Committee. That work has given him extensive experience in governance, policy development and accountability, and in working collaboratively with parents, educators and community stakeholders. He also sits on the External Advisory Board of Western Community College in Surrey.

Garry’s commitment to Surrey extends well beyond the School Board. He is a past President of the Rotary Club of Surrey and currently leads the BC region for the Pingalwara Society of Ontario, a charitable organization. Since 2002, he has helped raise more than $5.4 million for charitable and community causes.

Professionally, Garry brings more than 14 years of management experience and more than 13 years in sales and marketing. He is currently a full-time Realtor with Century 21 Coastal Realty in Surrey, work that has sharpened his skills in leadership, communication and relationship-building.
