Kim Lockhart is a community leader, nonprofit executive, small business owner, and mother of five who lives with her family in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island.

Kim is the Founder and Executive Director of Butterfly Support Network, a registered Canadian charity supporting individuals and families navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss. What began as a grassroots community initiative in 2019 has grown under her leadership into a provincial organization delivering programs, education, advocacy, and community support across British Columbia. Her work has given her extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, governance, fundraising, program development, and working alongside families, healthcare professionals, and community partners to improve systems of care.

Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, Kim worked in education and developed a particular passion for special education, inclusion, and disability rights. As a parent with children in the public school system, she also understands firsthand many of the pressures facing families, educators, and schools in British Columbia.

Kim is also a professional photographer and small business owner and understands the realities facing working families and entrepreneurs. She is actively involved in her community through youth programs, sports, volunteering, and local initiatives, and loves raising her family in the Oceanside community.

Kim chose to run because she believes many British Columbians no longer feel politically represented by the choices available to them. She sees CentreBC as an opportunity to build a balanced middle, bringing people together around strong public services, fiscally responsible government, economic growth, socially inclusive values, and a commitment to improving healthcare and mental health supports across our province.

Above all, Kim hopes to be a strong local voice for the people who call Ladysmith and Oceanside home, listening to constituents, understanding the issues affecting their everyday lives, and ensuring their concerns are represented in Victoria.
